Documents
Review the documents you will need for your trip.
Domestic flights
On our domestic flights, please have one of the identification documents listed below (original or certified copy) at hand.
Brazilian Nationals:
- An ID Card in good condition that allows for your identification
- A Brazilian DNI (National Identification Number), either physical or electronic (with photo)
- A physical or electronic Driver's License (with photo)
- Electronic voter registration (with photo)
- A valid passport
- An Employment Record Card enabling your identification
- A Professional ID issued by a council (e.g.: CRM; COREN; physical or digital OAB)
- An Oficial Identity Card for the members of the Legislative Branch of the Union, the States, the Federal District, and the Municipalities issued during the current legislature
- Identity Card issued by the ministries and bodies subordinate to the President of the Republic (example: Parliamentary Identity Card, Diplomatic and Consular Identity, Registration in the Navy, Army, Air Force, etc.)
Foreigners:
- American, Canadian, and Australian citizens: Starting April 10, 2025, a visa will be required for entry into Brazil. The e-Visa can be issued electronically through the Brazilian government's authorized website: (https://brazil.vfsevisa.com). Remember that the document review can take up to 7 days, so plan ahead.
- Other nationalities: A valid passport and, if required, a Brazilian visa are necessary for entry into Brazil. For more information, consult the Brazilian immigration authorities.
- Passengers with Brazilian naturalization, RNE, and others: Your entry will follow the regulations in effect on the date of travel. Stay informed about any changes.
- Passengers requiring a visa for entry into Brazil: Check the type of document needed, as Brazil has different types of visas depending on the purpose of the visit.
- Mercosur countries: You must present an official identification document from your country or a valid passport.
- Minors: Must present travel documentation as required by their country of origin.
Attention: digital documents must be presented inside the app in which they are made available. Screenshots are not valid for boarding.
*Police incident reports can be accepted as substitutes for the identification document exceptionally, in cases of theft, robbery or loss. Its validity is specified in the report itself; if there is no such information, it is considered valid for 30 days from the date of issue. For children under 16, it is mandatory to include the name of the parents or legal guardians in the police report.
*According to Resolution 400/2016 of ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency) in force as of March 14th, 2017.
*Remember to arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure. Check-in closes 1 hour before departure.
International Flights
On our international flights, documents such as Birth Certificate and certified copies will not be valid. Check out the required documents below.
Foreigners:
- American, Canadian, and Australian citizens: Starting April 10, 2025, a visa will be required for entry into Brazil. Mercosul (Argentina - Paraguay - Uruguay - Chile - Bolivia - Colombia - Ecuador - Peru - Venezuela):
- A valid passport
- An original Identity Card issued by the Departments of Public Safety of the States or the Federal District, within 10 years of issuance
- An International Vaccine Certificate, when required
Bariloche:
- A valid passport
- An original Identity Card issued by the Departments of Public Safety of the States or the Federal District, within 10 years of issuance
Additional information you should know:
Baggage allowance rules
Flights to/from Bariloche have an operational feature that limits luggage to 01 (one) checked volume per customer + 01 (one) carry-on luggage + 01 (one) personal item.
There is no additional franchise sale, meaning it is not possible to purchase a second item of baggage to be checked. This limitation also applies to the Azul's loyalty program's Customers, and there are no cumulative checked baggage benefits.
Curaçao:
- A valid passport
- An International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever
- Return ticket
- Proof of hotel payment
- Non-resident clients must complete the Immigration Card online to be presented at Curaçao Immigration, either in printed or digital form: https://dicardcuracao.com/portal
Additional information you should know:
Baggage allowance rules
The flights from Confins > Curaçao and Curaçao > Confins have an operational feature that limits the luggage to 01 (one) volume checked by Customer + 01 (one) carry-on luggage + 01 (one) personal item.

United States:
- A valid passport
- A United States Visa or a valid Permanent Residence (Green) Card
Additional information you should know:
Check-in
For flights in Orlando, passenger and luggage check-in will begin 5 hours before takeoff. In Fort Lauderdale, passenger and luggage check-in will begin 4 hours before takeoff.
At both airports, flights are closed 1h30 before departure time.
Powdered substance transport
Any type of powder carried in hand luggage, in quantities of 350 ml or more, needs to be identified before boarding.
Powder is defined as fine, dry particles produced by grinding, crushing or disintegration of a solid substance. For example: flour, sugar, ground coffee, spices, powdered milk (as baby formula) and cosmetics. Powders may also be presented in granulated or compressed material forms.
Exceptions are given to prescription drugs, baby formula in its original packaging and items purchased at Duty Free, in appropriate packaging, which can be taken in any quantity.
Guests will be randomly selected in a continuous process prior to boarding the aircraft.
Vaccines
The United States does not require proof of vaccination to enter the country.
On our international flights, documents such as Birth Certificate and certified copies will not be valid. Check out the required documents below.
Portugal
- Passport valid for 3 months from date of return
Additional information you should know:
Airport
1. It will take you 50 minutes on average to reach our boarding gate, not counting the time of your stops at the shops and passport control.
2. If you do not live in Portugal and want to request a refund of the fees paid for items purchased in the country, you must inform at check-in that you want to carry out the process (Tax Free).
3. Tax Free Shopping is located before Passport Control, so be aware of the time that will be spent with your purchases, as it will still be necessary to carry out the immigration process.
4. To use the automated border control system, you must:
• Have an electronic passport (with chip)
• Be at least 18 years old
• To have entered the European Community through Portugal
• Be within the legal limit of authorized stay (citizens not members of the European Community)
5. After passing through Immigration, locate your boarding gate on the airport panels and head to the indicated gate.
6. Check-in and luggage drop-off will begin 4 hours before take-off and close 1h30 in advance. So, stay alert and don't be late.
Special service request in Lisbon
Any type of special service from/to Lisbon must be scheduled 24 hours before the flight date, through Azul's Call Center: 0805-980-651 (toll-free).
Immigration
Those who have an electronic passport (with a chip) will be able to avoid the Immigration queues at the entrance and exit of Lisbon, using RAPID (Automatic Recognition of Passenger Identified by Documents). This equipment allows travelers to enter automatically and without human intervention.
Vaccines
To enter Portugal, it is not necessary to present any proof of vaccination.
Paris:
- Passport valid for 3 months from date of return

Airport
1. In Orly, Azul usually operates from Terminal 3. However, remember to check the check-in counters on the airport screens.
2. It will take you 30 minutes on average to reach our boarding gate, not counting the time of your stops at the shops and passport control.
3. Tax Free must be requested 3 hours before the flight by presenting a boarding pass and all items purchased. Check-in is not required if you already have your boarding pass. Refunds will always be made via credit card.
4. After passing through Immigration, locate your boarding gate on the airport panels and head to the indicated gate.
5. Passenger and luggage check-in will begin 4 hours before take-off and close 1h30 in advance. So, stay alert and don't be late.
Special service request in Paris
Any type of special service from/to Paris must be scheduled 24 hours before the flight date through Azul's Call Center: 0805-980-651 (toll-free).
Vaccines
To enter France, it is not necessary to present any proof of vaccination.
All other destinations:
- A valid passport
- An International Vaccine Certificate, when required
Trips from 2025 onwards
ETIAS, the European Travel Information and Authorization System, will become part of the documents to enter Europe from 2025 onwards. With this electronic authorization, Brazilians will be able to enter and stay for up to 90 days in any of the Schengen Area countries for travel for tourism, business or transit purposes.
Most Brazilians planning to travel to Europe must first obtain a travel authorization through this system.
Exceptions:
You will not be required to apply for ETIAS if you hold a residence or a long-stay visa issued by one of the Schengen Area countries. Just present your residence visa at the border to enter the Schengen area.
ETIAS Request
To apply for the ETIAS, you must:
- Have a passport valid for 6 months after the start of the trip;
- Fill out the ETIAS application form online, including a contact email;
- Pay the ETIAS fee by entering debit or credit card details
If approved, you will receive your ETIAS travel authorization attached to the confirmation email.
If denied, you will receive a justification for the refusal and you will have the right to appeal.

Unaccompanied Minors
Minors between 8 and 18 years of age traveling unaccompanied (UMNR) or in the company of a third party, of legal age, in addition to presenting one of the documents required to enter the destination, must present an extrajudicial travel authorization issued by both parents, or only one of them, if the death or inexistence of the other is proven.
On the CNJ (National Council of Justice) / Resolution 131 website, there is a travel booklet e um authorization model. The same model is also available on the Federal Police website.
An authorization in the Brazilian passport is also valid.

Important:
For your comfort and safety, boarding Unaccompanied Minors (UMNR) is only allowed on direct flights operated by Azul, except Azul Conecta. Check out the rules:
- Domestic flights: children aged 8 and older.
- International flights: children aged 12 and older.
- Flights to Curaçao: in addition to the extrajudicial authorization, you must present a birth certificate and a copy of the passports of the parents or legal representatives.
Minors accompanied by parents
Children under 18 traveling with both parents and presenting one of the documents required to enter the destination do not require an authorization.
If you use a passport which does not contain your parent’s names as a travel document you will need to present another document that contains your parents' names.
Minors aged under 18 traveling with only one parent and presenting one of the documents required to enter the destination must also present an extrajudicial authorization from the other parent, with a notarized signature or authorization in the Brazilian passport, unless the death or absence of one of them is proven in the documentation presented.
Have an easier trip with your children or minors under your responsibility
If you want to sit next to your children or children under your responsibility, there are a few ways to ensure this convenience:
Advance seat booking
As soon as you buy a ticket, you can choose seats that best suit you in advance pending payment of a fee.
Operational seat selection
Within the 48-hour deadline before the flight, you can find free seats to select. Check in through the Azul app or website and book seats at no cost, ensuring everyone's trip together, even with tickets purchased separately.
If you are unable to book seats through the website or app, you can go to the service desk at the airport before your flight or request assistance from our employees at the boarding gate.
Pets
In order to show that your pet is healthy and well cared for, you need to present:
An animal health certificate, issued by a veterinarian, valid for 10 days from the date of issue.
Proof of anti-rabies vaccination, with the name of the producing laboratory, the type of vaccine and the number of ampoule used.
Attention: For animals vaccinated for the first time, 21 days must elapse from the date of application of the vaccine for boarding. Animals previously vaccinated against rabies do not need to wait for the immunological effect of the vaccine. Animals that have been unvaccinated for rabies for more than 01 year are not allowed on board.
