How does the Complimentary Ticket work at Azul?
It is an exclusive benefit for Azul Diamante Customers in our loyalty program. . With it, you can bring a Complimentary Companion on the same trip.
And the best part, you can earn the benefit in two ways: by reaching the Diamante level target and by accumulating points on the Azul Itaú Infinite Card. The more ways you achieve, the more complimentary tickets to enjoy!

For Azul Diamante Customers who reached the level target
- Number of complimentary segments to use: 2
- Valid destinations: the 2 complimentary tickets are only for flights within Brazil.
- Requirements to be eligible for the benefit: reach 12,000 qualifying points AND 12 segments OR R$ 25,000.00 in air spending on Azul.
For Azul Itaú Infinite Card Customers who reached the points target
- Number of complimentary segments to use: 4
- Valid destinations: 2 complimentary tickets are only for flights within Brazil and 2 can be for flights within Brazil or abroad.
- Requirements to be eligible for the benefit: accumulate 50,000 invoice points within 12 months, with the active card.
Attention: you can have more complimentary tickets! Just reach the Diamante level target and also the points accumulation target on the Azul Itaú Infinite Card. With this, you can enjoy a total of 6 complimentary segments!
Additionally, there are some rules and requirements to obtain the benefit. Check below:
For Customers who became Diamante by reaching the level target:
According to the new Regulation disclosed in February/2024 and valid from 01/April/2024, we had changes in the way to reach the Diamante level.
To achieve this level, Customers have 2 options:
A) Accumulate 12,000 Qualifying Points and (plus) 12 Segments;
B) R$ 25,000 in Air Spending on Azul in the current year/cycle (including regular fares and/or extra services, as described on the relevant page).
Therefore, to unlock the Complimentary Ticket benefit of the Diamante Level, the rules for reaching this level prevail, with the benefit consisting of 2 Complimentary Segments for flights within Brazil.
Additionally, Customers who achieved the Diamante Category by accumulating 20,000 qualifying points in 2023, or from 01/01/2024 to 31/03/2024, the Companion Ticket benefit remains available during the current year/cycle.
For Customers who became Diamante by holding the Azul Itaú Infinite Card:
To use the Complimentary Ticket from the Azul Itaú Infinite Card benefit, the Customer must accumulate 50,000 invoice points within the current calendar year, with the benefit consisting of 2 Complimentary Segments for flights within Brazil and 2 Free Segments (can be within Brazil or abroad).
Accumulation of points or qualifying segments:
It is important to note that the companion's fare using the Complimentary Ticket benefit is not eligible for the accumulation of Azul Points, qualifying points, segments, and air spending in the program.
Valid flights
The Complimentary Ticket is valid only for flights within Brazil and abroad operated by Azul, except in fare classes "Y", "A", and "B" and flights operated by Azul Conecta.
Valid fares and fees:
The complimentary ticket is valid only for the payment of the companion's regular fare in Brazilian reais (R$), that is, it does not include any other fees (boarding fee, change fee, penalties, or special service fees such as pet transport, excess baggage, sports equipment transport, etc.), as well as the usual optional expenses, such as extra passenger services, Espaço Azul, insurance, accommodation, and personal expenses (food, transportation, phone calls, shopping, tours, and other personal expenses).
Valid segments and reservations:
The reservation must be created for a round trip from the initial departure location (multi-segment is not valid). Valid example: outbound VCP-CNF and return CNF-VCP. The use of two or more complimentary tickets in a single reservation is not allowed, that is, the use of one complimentary ticket per locator is permitted. The use of the complimentary ticket must be linked to a reservation with a fare for at least 2 travelers and with fares eligible for the benefit.
Channel to issue the complimentary ticket:
From April 1, 2024, the issuance of the complimentary ticket for the Diamante and Azul Itaú Card benefits will be exclusively through the Azul App, during the standard ticket issuance procedure, and only when the ticket is purchased with payment in national or foreign currency. Thus, it is emphasized that the privilege associated with the issuance of the complimentary ticket will no longer be available for transactions involving the purchase of tickets using points, and the inability to issue after the reservation is made by the benefit holder.
Use of the Tarifa Congelada Product
We inform you that during the ticket issuance process with the Courtesy Ticket benefit, the use of the "Tarifa Congelada" product will not be allowed.

You can do everything through the website and Azul app. Check out the step-by-step guide:
Step 2
Log into your account and search for tickets to your desired destination. If you are eligible for the benefit, at the beginning of the search, the option to use the Complimentary Ticket in the reservation will be available. Select the option, mark at least 2 travelers, and press "Search".
Step 3
During the ticket purchase, enter your details and those of your companion, select "I want to bring a complimentary passenger," and that's it! Just complete the purchase to use the benefit.
And remember: you can only issue the Complimentary Ticket for reservations paid in Brazilian reais or foreign currency, right? Tickets redeemed with points do not entitle you to the benefit
Also, remember that you can only use it on flights operated by Azul (except Azul Conecta), in regular fares.

No. To use the benefit, the companion must be traveling with the Diamante Customer who is using the benefit, both on the same reservation.
No. You will not have any cost to use the Complimentary Ticket benefit. Just inform during the purchase that you want to use the benefit.
Remember: the Complimentary Ticket covers only the regular fare costs. Other fees, such as boarding fees or other airport fees, are not included in the benefit.
This information varies according to each Diamante Customer:
- For Diamante Customers who earned the benefit by reaching the target level: the complimentary ticket can be used until December 31 of the current year, that is, the ticket reservation must be made by this date. Example: you reached the Diamante level target on 04/18/2024, so you can issue the complimentary ticket until 12/31/2024.
- For Diamante Customers who earned the benefit by holding the Azul Itaú Infinite Card and accumulating 50,000 invoice points: the complimentary ticket can be used within 12 months from the date the benefit was granted. Example: you earned the benefit on 04/18/2024, so you can issue the Complimentary Ticket until 04/18/2025.
The complimentary reservation can be changed or canceled for reuse within the current year. That is, the quota will return to the customer with the same original validity.
To cancel your ticket or for more information about canceling the Complimentary Ticket, you need to contact Azul's customer service via Callcenter.
The round trip must be in the same PNR (passenger identification). Additionally, the return must be to the same city of origin (multi-segment is not valid).
For example, a trip with outbound VCP/SDU and return SDU/GRU is outside the rule (not allowed). A trip with outbound VCP/SDU and return SDU/VCP is within the rule.
No. The use of the Complimentary Ticket is only valid for both segments, with the return being to the same city of origin.
Yes, you can use the benefit to book with only 1 segment. However, it is important to note that the benefit for the other segment (return) will be lost.
In reservations with 2 segments, the benefit will be applied to both segments, thus using 2 Complimentary Segments in the reservation. For example, if the Diamante Customer has a reservation with the segments VCP/SDU - SDU/VCP and wants to use the complimentary ticket for only VCP/SDU for their companion, it will not be possible.
No. The Complimentary Ticket can only be issued for regular fares. If the original reservation is issued in the Business cabin, the complimentary ticket must be issued in Economy.
