Travels as from 2025

ETIAS shall integrate the documents required for entering Europe, and it shall be attached to the passport to be used for travel. With this electronic authorization, Brazilian citizens may enter and remain in any of the ETIAS countries for up to 90 days for the purposes of tourism, business, or transit.

Most Brazilians who are planning to travel to Europe must first obtain a travel authorization through this system.

In order to request ETIAS, you must:

- Have a passport valid for at least 6 months after the beginning of your trip
- Fill out the ETIAS request form online and add an e-mail contact
- Pay the ETIAS fee by inserting credit or debit card information

To request ETIAS, go to their official platform (when it is in effect) and fill out the form with your personal information. In the end, there is a questionnaire to be answered.

Get updates on their official website.

If approved, you shall receive your ETIAS travel authorization attached to a confirmation e-mail.

If denied, you shall receive a justification for the refusal and shall have the right to appeal.

Exceptions

You are not obligated to request an ETIAS authorization if you have a resident or long stay visa issued by one of the Schengen Area countries. All you need is to present your resident visa at the border in order to enter the Schengen Area.

In the following countries:

1. It will take you about 50 minutes to get to our boarding gate, excluding your time at stores and passport control.

2. If you do not live in Portugal and wish to request the reimbursement of the fees paid for items purchased there, you first need to inform that you wish to carry out the Tax Free process at check-in.

3. The Duty Free shop is located before Passport Control, so be aware of the time you will spend on your purchases because you still have to go through the Immigration process!

4. In order to use the automated boarding control system, you must:

         • Have an electronic passport (with a chip).

         • Be at least 18 years old.

         • Have entered the European Union through Portugal.

         • Be within the legal limit for authorized stay (non-citizens of the European Union).

5. After going through Immigration, find your boarding gate at the airport screen and go to the appropriate gate.

6. Our check-in ends 60 minutes before takeoff time. Attention! Don’t be late!

Travel safely with your kids or minors under your care.

In case you wish to sit beside your own children or other children and adolescents who are under your care, there are some ways to guarantee this convenience, such as buying in advance or choosing your seats 48 hours before the flight date at no cost.

Choosing your seats in advance:
As soon as you buy a ticket, you can choose the most convenient seats in advance by payment of a fee.

Operational seat selection:
Up to 48 hours before your flight, you may find and select seats free of charge. Check-in using the Azul app or website and choose your seats without any cost. This ensures you will travel together, including tickets purchased separately! If you cannot choose your seats in our app or website, you can also go to the customer front desk at the airport before your flight or ask for our team’s help at the boarding gate.
